t I knew of. This example is for the Monoprice Mini Select Pro or whatever it is. They have a cubic print volume of about 6 inches in all dimensions. Mine (an Anet E10) was about $280 because it was on sale, then went up to $350. It has a print volume of about 9.5 x 10.5 x 12 inches. But it’s not particularly user friendly (although I chose it for my first printer because of its size) and the bed has to be leveled manually by turning little knobs on each of the corners and there are some things that happen in the control box, people say change and just all sorts of things because it’s a Chinese imitation. The one it’s a smaller clone of, the Creality CR-10, is about 10 x 12 x 15 and will likely cost around $500. There is an even larger model of the CR-10 that is about 18 inches in all dimensions and costs about $1000. Then there are those of the same (or even smaller) size (the smaller CR-10) that cost as much (if not more than) because they have better quality control or manufacturing or material quality, or have a bunch of extra internals to make them run smoother running – things like a bed leveling sensor that allows for automatic bed leveling. This is where things like the Makerbot Replicator and Ultimaker come in. Then there are resin printers – small desktop printers use a smartphone-sized LCD screen to cure a tub of liquid resin layer by layer, actually printing upside down. These start at maybe $300-500. Note that I said START at. A mid-range device would probably cost $1000. Then there’s SLS and a few others that apply a layer of powder and then run a laser over it to fuse the granules together. These probably start at $2000-$5000 if you are lucky. I don’t pursue these printers because I always thought they were way too expensive that I could ever afford in the near future where I haven’t gotten a good job where I can afford such things. However, they produce far stronger and smoother prints than FDM, about on par with resin. A note about resin and powder printers is that if you make them hollow you need to put holes in the model to allow the powder/resin inside to drain. Then there are giant versions of the powder and resin printers, which can range from $20,000 to $250,000. There are also even larger, industrial-size ones that can cost millions that can be used, for example, in prototyping 3D printed cars (which is one thing – Google/YouTube it). Somewhere, a father built a giant FDM-style printer that printed a concrete cement castle for his daughter to play with. I have no idea how much that cost. So yes, as a private individual you can certainly buy your own household 3D printer. And like the guy who answered before me said, you can find them on Amazon. I bought mine from Banggood and you may be able to find it on AliExpress as well. I didn’t check though because I don’t use AliExpress.
